Warrant Arrest of 1st Degree Rape Suspect

News Release

On Monday October 1, 2018, members of the Louisiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit contacted the Lake Charles Police Department to request assistance with locating and apprehending a wanted person. The suspect was identified as Willie Stevens of Lake Charles Louisiana, wanted for 1<sup>st</sup> Degree Rape. 

This charge stemmed from an investigation following the rape of an infirmed student, while the suspect was employed at Robinswood School in Lake Charles, a school for the developmentally disabled.

After notification of this warrant, members of the Lake Charles Police Department SWAT team located and arrested Willie Stevens at his home located at 602 North 1<sup>st</sup> Avenue without incident, a short time later. 

Mr. Stevens was transported to the Lake Charles Police Department Detective Division where he as interviewed by investigators of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.  He was then transported to Calcasieu Correction Center for processing and confinement.

<strong>Arrested</strong> – Willie Stevens, Black Male, 51 years of age, residing at 602 ½ North 1<sup>st</sup> Avenue, Lake Charles La. 

<strong>Warrant</strong> – 1<sup>st</sup> Degree Rape issued through the 14<sup>th</sup> Judicial District Court, Bond amount – $100,000.””Arrested Willie Stevens
