3 Doors Down to rock Golden Nugget
The band 3 Doors Down will perform at Golden Nugget’s Grand Event Center June 30.
American rock band 3 Doors Down will be returning to Southwest Louisiana June 30 to perform at the Golden Nugget’s Grand Event Center.
The group first took rock music audiences by storm in 2000 with their debut album “The Better Life,” which went six-times platinum and propelled the group to stardom with the release of their first single “Kryptonite.” Now, fresh on the heels of the release of their newest album “Us and the Night,” lead singer Brad Arnold said he is excited to bring a mix of new and old hits to the Lake Charles audience.
“We’re going to be performing some songs from our new album, but we are also definitely going to be performing a lot of our old hits as well,” he said. “One thing I would not want is for fans to feel like they came to the show and didn’t know any of the songs we played, so we’re going to make sure they have plenty of sing-along moments at our show.”
While the band is no stranger to Southwest Louisiana, Arnold said returning to Lake Charles never gets old.
“Our fans always make us feel comfortable wherever we go, but there’s something special about Lake Charles and the south in general. It’s like coming home. We’re all from southern Mississippi, and there’s no mistaking that southern hospitality and we just love it.”
Despite 17 years of success and fame, Arnold’s demeanor remains humble of the band’s accomplishments. That mentality is echoed in the band’s charity work through its The Better Life Foundation. Established in 2004, the foundation has worked to change the lives in children and young adults through contributions to communities and organizations with children in need.

Another area of focus that
is close to bandmembers’ hearts is supporting military service members. Given the close proximity of Fort Polk to the Golden Nugget stage, Arnold said that he hopes to see military members and veterans in the crowd Friday night.
“We have actually been told by soldiers at our shows that our songs, like ‘Here Without You’, helped them to maintain their focus while they were deployed overseas,” Arnold stated. “When you get that kind of statement, that you helped someone connect with their loved ones while they’re defending our freedom, there is just no better honor than to hear that. We continue to show honor and vocalize our appreciation to those brave men and women.”
