Troopers Arrest Sulphur Man for Distribution of Child Pornography

SULPHUR – Troopers arrested a Sulphur man today for possession and distribution of child pornography.
Earlier this month, investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit began an undercover child exploitation investigation involving images of child sexual abuse. As part of the investigation, a search warrant was served today at a residence in Sulphur by the Louisiana State Police and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
While serving the search warrant, investigators found evidence indicating 28-year-old Nicholas Lee Simpson possessed images of child sex abuse. During questioning, Simpson admitted he downloaded and shared these images.
Simpson was arrested for possession and distribution of pornography involving juveniles and was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
The investigation is continuing.
