Whiskey South, Geno Delafosse, Keith Frank and more will rock 28th annual fest

The Marshland Festival, celebrating its 28th year and featuring entertainment from a variety of musicians, will be Friday and Saturday, July 28-29, in the convention center at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

With music at the event ranging from zydeco and oldies to Cajun and country, there should be something for all ages.

On Friday, doors will open at 5 p.m., and the lineup includes Tommy Shreve; Greg Blanchard; Keith Frank; and Wayne Toups. Shreve will start things off, and the evening will end with Toups.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the lineup features Joe Simon & LA Cajun Aces; Whiskey South; LA Express with Johnnie Allen; Geno Delafosse; Waters Edge; Jamie Bergeron; and Frank Foster. Joe Simon is the first act, and Foster will wrap things up and keep the place rocking until midnight.

The Marshland Festival helps raise funds for 15 schools, churches and community organizations and has been rated as a Top 20 event by the Southeastern Tourism Society.
