Former abortion doctor will be guest speaker at Life Matters Gala

Dr. Haywood Robinson performed hundreds of abortions before an encounter changed his heart and mind. Robinson is the director of medical affairs and education for the world’s largest grassroots movement to end abortion, and he will be in Lake Charles Friday, Nov. 17 at the West Cal Event Center in Sulphur as keynote speaker for the Life Matters Gala.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $75 and include Robinson’s address, a silent auction, special entertainment, dinner by Roderick Stutes, photo booth, Life Matters Award and ABC testimony.

Ticket sales and sponsorships help raise money for ABC Pregnancy Center, an organization that has been helping pregnant women for the past 32 years – and relies totally on donations for its work.

ABC is dedicated to actively listening to the needs of women in crisis pregnancies to help them overcome hurdles that push them into abortion.

“We call it a pro-love approach and commitment to walk alongside mothers even after birth,” said Becky Girola, executive director. “For those who are interested in helping us continue our work, this Life Matters Gala is a great way to start. I see it as a pep rally for life. You’ll hear encouraging ABC stories, and it would be a great honor to see you there.”
