17 sign commitments to McNeese

Men’s Basketball

On the first day of the week-long early signing period for Division I basketball, the Cowboys signed one player, 6-6 wing Chris Orlina. The Newport News, Virginia-native currently plays for South Plains (TX) Junior College. Last season at South Plains, Orlina won the junior college national championship, averaging 8.9 points, 4,8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

Women’s Basketball

The Cowgirls also signed one player, guard Elizabeth Ratcliff from Teurlings Catholic in Lafayette. The 5-7 Ratcliff is a four-year starter and three-year letter-winner for Tuerlings. In her career, she’s averaged 14.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. The Lady Rebels have made the playoffs each of the previous three seasons with Ratcliff on the team.
