Three indicted in July homicide

LC men accused of shooting man who later drove vehicle into tree

Three Lake Charles men have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in connection with the July death of a 21-year-old man.

Jermaine Washington Jr., Barry Brooks and Karrington K. Henry were all charged with first-degree murder in the homicide of Dorian Colston.

Washington was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

When deputies responded to a vehicle accident on July 4 on U.S. 90 near Jones Road east of Lake Charles, they found Colston in the car. He had been shot several times.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said it responded to the one-vehicle accident after receiving a call from Louisiana State Police.

Authorities believe that Colston, after being shot several times, drove a short distance before crashing into a tree.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they observed several people attempting to render aid to the victim.

Colston was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Washington, Brooks and Henry are all being held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center.””First degree murder
