Style and service for every budget

Whether you have a vision for your window treatments or have no idea what to do, Tom and Phyliss White have got you covered

When building new, remodeling or sprucing up a single room, never underestimate the power of the right window treatment and the satisfaction of having an expert handle the job from, “I’ve been thinking about…” to “Oh! I love it even more than I expected.”

Tom and Phyllis White are owners of Budget Blinds in Lake Charles and have been helping homeowners throughout Southwest Louisiana get the right window treatments for their homes for the last 12 years. Phyllis can bring the showroom to you. Or, if you prefer, you can see some of the many styles available at her shop at 1721A West Sale Road in Lake Charles before scheduling the free in-house consultation.

“I know it doesn’t seem like I could pack as many samples of as many different window treatments into the van as I do,” said White. “We have thousands of looks, hundreds of colors and twenty-five brands to choose from.”

Consultants carry many different types of blinds, such as wood, faux and vertical; even fabric blinds. Choose from a wide assortment of colors or decide on a custom color. Inside this moving showroom, you’ll also find every type of interior shutter you can think of and some you haven’t. Budget Blinds has roller, Roman, cellular, solar and graphic shades. Samples are available in drapes, pillows and bedding. Customers can even design their own fabric. Phyllis and salesperson, Ashley Eisen of Budget Blinds, can even help clients complete custom looks with rugs and upholstered headboards.

Christi Stutes Clark, CSC Design, values Phyllis’ work ethic and communication skills.

“Her father had a furniture store here,” Clark said. “He was known for his work ethic, quality merchandise and customer service. She learned her work ethic working in that business. She also has a wonderful ability to understand the customer’s vision and translate that into the end product. She satisfies the customer. Those are skills you can’t learn. You either have it or you don’t.”

Sally Abate asked to see everything Phyllis had available – which is considerable – for inspiration. She has used Budget Blinds to style the windows in two homes and a lake house.

“She’s friendly. She’s down to earth. She’s professional. She’s Phyllis,” said Abate, “and she’s very good at what she does.”

Peter Romero said Phyllis White has a great reputation.

“She came out to our homeand worked with my wife who was interested in shutters and blinds,” Romero said. “She made the process — from the initial visit to installation — a smooth transition and was very easy to work with.”

Budget Blinds window treatments add texture, color and pattern to the room.  The right window treatment can create a certain mood, style or add privacy. Dress a window the right way and it can beautifully shield a less-than-scenic view or make the house’s best view accessible with the touch of a button.

Some of today’s products are designed to bring in natural light, yet keep the room private or keep the light out altogether for a good night’s (or day’s) sleep. It’s even possible to install window coverings that are not only great looking, but can also help save energy. Budget Blinds can fit the hard-to-fit window and design the perfect window treatment for any shape or installation dilemma.

“Don’t make your window treatments an afterthought, especially if you’ve paid attention to the other details in the room,” said White. “It doesn’t cost a thing to find out what’s available, including new, automated products, blinds that go up and down with the touch of a button and roller shades in traditional, transitional and modern colors and patterns.”

The in-home consultation is free. Call Budget Blinds today at 337-436-2323 to find out more. ””Budget Blinds logo””

Shutters allow homeowners to control sunlight, can be designed to fit unique-shaped windows, are great for large windows and can bring warmth to the room like few other window coverings.
