MLK Holiday closures listing

The offices of Chennault International Airport Authority will be closed on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday.

The city of Lake Charles will observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday. Lake Charles City Hall will be closed on this day, and there will be no trash or garbage collection. Changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows: trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday; Tuesday’s garbage will be picked up Wednesday; Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All other services of the Department of Public Works, including all recycling operations (Nelson Ball Field/Alma Lane, Wood Waste Facility, and Roving Green Truck) will be closed on Monday but will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday.

All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Offices will reopen on Tuesday. Garbage and trash pickup will run as regularly scheduled Monday for Waste Management customers. The Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers — at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur and 5500-B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles — will also be closed. They will reopen Thursday.

All Calcasieu Parish Public Library branches and facilities will be closed on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday. Items can be renewed online at www.calcasieulibrary.org and clicking on the My Account icon at the top of the page or by using the chat feature found on the website, however no fines will be charged during the holidays.

All city of Sulphur offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Per Waste Management, there will be no garbage collection interruptions this holiday. Service will run as regularly scheduled.
