BREAKING: Recall election against Elton mayor can move forward, judge rules
31st Judicial District Court Steve Gunnell ruled Monday that a recall election against Elton Mayor Keisia Lemoine can move forward.
The judge’s ruling clears the way for the recall election to be held April 27.
The court found that Jeff Davis Parish Registrar of Voters Joann Blair and former Gov. John Bel Edwards both property certified the petition.
Leomine’s request for a temporary restraining order, preliminary injunction and permanent injection were also denied.
