Murder suspects in custody

Both held without bond for heinous Lacassine killings

JENNINGS — Both suspects wanted in connection with the Dec. 16 double homicide of a Lacassine couple fatally shot in their home have turned themselves in, authorities said.

Jordan Alexander Legros, 21, of 107 North Polk Street in Welsh, surrendered to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Javari Wayne Guidry turned himself in around 7 p.m. Thursday.

Both men are currently being held without bond on charges of aggravated burglary and two counts of first-degree murder for the death of Walter Joseph Gotreaux and his wife, Darlene Cecelia Gotreaux.

The couple were found dead in the bedroom of their home on U.S. 90 by deputies conducting a welfare check called in by a concerned neighbor who could not reach the couple by phone.

Authorities said the couple had been shot multiple times inside the home in what they say was a robbery.

The suspects had some connection to the victims through associates, including contacts with people who were close to the victims, according to Commander Ramby Cormier.””Arrested Javari Wayne Guidry””ARRESTED Jordan Legros.png
