DeRidder man killed in single-vehicle crash

Louisiana State Police Troop D are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that happened Wednesday on Robert Clark Road.

Trooper First Class Matt Gaspard said the crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Jaydan Paul Templet of DeRidder.

Gaspard said Templet was driving a 2021 Hyundai Palisade west on Robert Clark Road, just west of Gambrell Church Road, when the vehicle failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and exited the roadway to the right.

The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and into a creek where it overturned.

“Templet, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Gaspard said.

Impairment is unknown at this time. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
