Lake Charles Community Band concert to present tribute to Grammy winners

What do Beyoncé, Adele, Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift have in common? Yes, all are Grammy winners, and the greatest hits of these Grammy winners – and more – will be featured in the Lake Charles Community Band’s first summer concert. Monday, June 17, 6:30 p.m. in the Tritico Theater at McNeese State University. This “Catch a Concert” Series is absolutely free, and presented  in collaboration with McNeese State University’s Department of Performing Arts, according to  Jeremi Edwards, Lake Charles Community Band (LCCB) spokesperson.

Leading the LCCB through these musical escapades is the McNeese State University Assistant Director of Bands, Dr. Daveron Edwards, who promises an “unforgettable experience for all.”

The free fun doesn’t end with the June 17th ‘Tribute to Grammy Award Winners’ concert, so mark your calendars for June 24 and July 4.

On June 24 at the Trittico Theater at 6:30, the LCCB will present “A Night at the Movies.with a magically Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious line up ranging from the creepy, spooky and mysterious and altogether ooky Adams Family tune  to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah from Song of the South.

The Thursday, July 4 concert will be in celebration with the Lake Charles Independence Day festivities.

“Join us as we mark this special occasion with music, community and patriotism,” Jeremi Edwards said.
