FRANCINE WATCH: List of closures, cancellations

All Calcasieu Parish School Board schools and facilities will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Wednesday, Sept. 11, in anticipation of the landfall of Hurricane Francine. The CPSB meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed until next Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Due to the constant changes to the forecast timing and a projected early landfall of Tropical Storm Francine, all Allen Parish schools and offices will be closed all day on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will give families time to prepare. A decision regarding Thursday will be determined after a complete damage assessment of schools and communities. This decision will be made no later than 5 am on Thursday.

Beauregard Parish School Board schools and facilities will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

McNeese State University Executive Leadership Team has determined that the campus will move to online course delivery effective noon Tuesday, Sept. 10. All offices will close at 1 p.m. All classes will be canceled, and offices will remain closed on Wednesday, Sept.11.

Bishop Noland High School and Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

All Diocese of Lake Charles schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Jeff Davis Parish Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. A decision concerning any closures on Thursday will be made Wednesday evening.

Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court Lynn Jones said the new commissioner schools for those wishing to work the presidential election has been rescheduled due to the predicted weather conditions. The school is not set for 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the McNeese SEED Center, 4310 Ryan St.

The Louisiana Christian University Town Hall meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lake Charles has been canceled due to impending inclement weather and will be rescheduled at a later time. Louisiana Christian University has canceled classes and will close all campus offices on Wednesday.
The Calcasieu Soccer Club has cancelled all recreation team practices that were scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
All Calcasieu Parish Public Library branches and facilities will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, as well as New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park, are closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Vernon Parish schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday.
Sowela’s main campus and all site locations will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. The school anticipates reopening on Thursday.
The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
