Former Iota coach arrested on child sex charges

Former Iota High School head football coach Rickey Wriborg has been arrested on child sex charges, KATC-TV reported Tuesday.

The station said the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office booked Wriborg, 68, on a charge of molestation of a juvenile Friday. Wriborg was released after posting $15,000 bond, KATC reported.

The former coach helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class 2A state championship game in 1999, as well as a runner-up finish in 2001.

KATC said Wriborg holds a life certification in general science for grades 6-12; health, P.E. and safety; biology for grades 6-12; and driver education.
