Boyfriend sought in hospitalization of 5-year-old

Not the first time King accused of child abuse

JENNINGS — Authorities are continuing to follow up on leads in the search for a Jennings man wanted for harming a 5-year-old girl left in his care.

James Brock King, 32, is accused of causing extensive injuries to his girlfriend’s 5-year-old daughter while babysitting her at a residence in Jennings on Dec. 30, according to Police Chief Danny Semmes.

The juvenile was brought to the hospital with injuries to her face, body and head including bruising and scratches believed to have been caused by a belt, Semmes said.

The injuries were deemed consistent with child abuse by medical personnel, he said.

King was also the suspect in a 2016 abuse case involving an 11-month-old child who suffered a head injury, including two skull fractures.

He pled guilty to cruelty to a juvenile last May and received 37 months and 10 days in jail with credit for time served, according to District Attorney Michael Cassidy.

“We have received over 1,100 shares and inquires on Facebook concerning King, including two possible sightings,” Semmes said Wednesday.

King is known to frequent the Jennings, Sulphur, Crowley, Turkey Creek and Ville Platte areas, according to Semmes.

King is described as a slender, white male with extensive tattoos all over the body including the face.

He has dark hair and may have facial hair.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Jennings police at 821-5513 or the tips line at 275-9002””In Search of Justin King
