LC man arrested during joint undercover operation targeting online offenders

A Lake Charles man was arrested Friday night during a joint undercover operation targeting online offenders attempting to solicit minors for sexual acts.

The operation was conducted by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police and FBI.

CPSO spokesperson Kayla Vincent said investigators made contact with Wilson J. Washington III, 28, when he was chatting with what he thought to be a 16-year-old girl and messaging her about committing sexual acts.

She said detectives made contact with Wilson at a local park in Lake Charles, where he thought he was meeting up with the girl.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged indecent behavior with juveniles; and computer aided solicitation of a minor.

Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $150,000.

CPSO Special Victims Unit Detective Alexander Vincent is the lead investigator on this case.
