Police: Ford truck suspected vehicle in fatal hit-and-run

The Jennings Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle they believe is connected to a deadly hit-and-run.

Police Chief Danny Semmes said Thursday, investigators are looking for a 2013-2014 Ford XLT, Lariat or other higher trim level Ford truck. The vehicle would have damage to the passenger side headlight housing and mirror.

“We were able to identify the vehicle due to the serial number on parts found on the ground,” Semmes said.

Investigators believe the crash happened around 12:40 a.m. Tuesday on the Service Road, near the Louisiana Oil and Gas Park and La. 26 in Jennings.

The victim has been identified as Chasity Rachal, 28, of Jennings.

Rachal’s body was found in a ditch around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday by constructor workers.

Investigators believe Rachal was traveling west on the Service Road when she was hit from behind.

If you have any information on the vehicle or crash, please call the Jennings Police Department’s anonymous tip line at 337-275-9002.
