Baton Rouge episodes from ‘Antiques Roadshow’ to air next week

Special to the American Press

Big news for fans of the hit PBS show “Antiques Roadshow!” The first of the three episodes shot last spring at the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge will premiere at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 on Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB).

Episode two premieres Monday, March 11, with the third and final episode premiering Monday, March 25 — both at 7 p.m.

The LSU Rural Life Museum was chosen as a stop during the program’s Season 28 production tour back in 2023. More than 10,000 people applied for tickets to the free appraisal event. After a ticket lottery, thousands of people from across Louisiana brought their treasures for consideration before the Roadshow experts during a dawn to dusk taping on May 2, 2023. By the end of the day, the production team had enough treasures filmed to fill three full episodes, plus extras for an upcoming “Junk in the Trunk” episode, full of bonus appraisals from the entire season.

During the excitement, LPB also had cameras rolling! The result, “Finding Fortunes: Behind the Scenes of Antiques Roadshow,” premieres at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26. LPB follows three hopeful participants as they present their items for appraisal.

“For Louisiana to be a part of this experience is amazing,” says Clarence “C.C” Copeland, LPB President and CEO. “The national exposure our state will receive on such a popular show is priceless. LPB is happy that we were able to contribute that day and we are so pleased to now share the results with all of Louisiana.”
