Allen correctional officer arrested for inappropriate contact with inmate

A female correctional officer at the Allen Correctional Center has been arrested after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Jillian Lafleur, 29, of Iowa, La., was arrested Thursday for malfeasance in office following separate investigations by the Allen Correctional Center and the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lafleur remained in the Allen Parish Jail on a $20,0000 bond Monday.

Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Blair Fontenot said the Sheriff’s Office was made aware of possible inappropriate conduct between Lafleur and the inmate last week following an internal investigation by the Allen Correctional Center.

He said the Sheriff’s Office received information from the Allen Correctional Center concerning a video of one of their correctional officer’s having inappropriate contact with an inmate.

“They suspected something was going on so they pulled the tape and watched it, then contacted our office,” Fontenot said.

After viewing the video, LaFleur was charged with malfeasance in office and arrested, he said.
