Animal Services and Adoption Center temporarily relocates

Special to the American Press

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Animal Services and Adoption Center has temporarily relocated while construction of its new facility is underway.

The department now operates out of the OJJS Training and Educational Center (TEC Building) at 3615 E. Prien Lake Road. Signage will be placed at both locations to assist the public.

“On behalf of our team, I want to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we work from our temporary location,” said Animal Services Manager Claire Terracina. “We are looking forward to serving the residents of Calcasieu Parish from our new facility.”

To provide the best possible experience, the public is strongly encouraged to schedule appointments for all services, including animal pickups and adoptions, by calling 337-721-3730 or emailing animalservices@calcasieu.gov. Visit calcasieu.gov/adoptioncenter to learn more about the new facility.
