9 sentenced for illegal entry into US

Nine illegal aliens have pleaded guilty and were sentenced to prison for re-entering the United States after previously being removed, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana.

The defendants were sentenced to a term of imprisonment spanning the time of their incarceration to sentencing.

All of the defendants have been remanded to the custody of U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for deportation proceedings.

Louisiana State Police arrested the defendants June 15 and they pleaded guilty Oct. 15.

Those who pleaded guilty and were sentenced are: Edgar Escobar-Perez, 19; Rosa Garcia-Aguilar, 26; Manuel Lopez-Lopez, 24; Adan Baten-Perez, 35; Migdalia Baten-Perez, 32; Oscar Chavajay-Lopez, 21; Enericto Lopez-Baten, 38; Eddy Siney-Sajquiy, 24, all of Guatamala; and Julio Cesar Juarez-Nieves, 27, of Mexico.

Authorities said Manuel Lopez-Lopez had previously been removed to Guatamela three times while Julio Juarez-Nieves had previously been removed to Mexico twice and Edgar Escobar-Perez was previously removed to Guatemala two times.

The U.S. Border Patrol and Louisiana State Police conducted this investigation.
