The cause of a motorcycle crash that killed a 56 year-old Lake Charles man Sunday has yet to be determined, said authorities.

Lake Charles police Lt. Richard Harrell said that at about 11:58 p.m. a 2016 Harley Davidson driven by Stevens Thomas crashed at the intersection of Fruge and Albert streets. Harrell said  Thomas had been driving eastbound on Fruge when he lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb and then traveled across the grassy median where he was ejected. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Harrell said on Monday that it has not been determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash and that toxicology tests will be performed.
