UPDATE: All of Cameron now under mandatory evacuation
Published 9:05 pm Monday, September 9, 2024
Due to recent changes in the forecasted track and intensity of Francine, the Cameron Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, using weather information from all available sources, will be issuing a Mandatory Order of Evacuation for the remaining areas of Cameron Parish due to Tropical Storm Francine.
This new order of evacuation will not go into effect until 6 am on Tuesday. No immediate action is needed tonight.
These situations can change rapidly, so residents are advised to monitor their local radio and television stations and social media for future developments.
There will be no roadblocks or road closures during the evacuation process, which means vehicles will be allowed to go in and out of the parish as long as road and weather conditions allow. The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office will be closely monitoring traffic and hazardous situations.
