A vehicle has been pulled from the waters near Old Highway 90/Burnout Bridge where the body of a man was recovered earlier this week.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kayla Vincent said the body of Garrett Harrell, Jr., 33, of New Orleans was found at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning and was recovered by their office’s Marine Division.
Vincent said divers were also able to locate a vehicle underwater, after running sonar in the area where the body was recovered. Deputies were able to lift a submerged Buick SUV, which has been confirmed as the vehicle Harrell was driving.
When the body was recovered there were no obvious signs of foul play or injuries, Vincent said. The investigation is continuing and the coroner will determine cause of death.
