Southwest Louisiana will experience another round of heavy rainfall and potentially severe weather beginning late this afternoon, overnight and into early Saturday morning.
National Weather Service Lake Charles meteorologist Donald Jones said a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for most of the region except for coastal parishes in Louisiana.
“The good news is that this is the last significant precipitation event until late next week so we’ll finally get a bit of time to dry out after this one,” Jones.
Molo Middle School is closed today due to a power outage on campus.
“As of now, there is not an estimated power restoration time, said Calcasieu Parish School Board spokesperson Holly Holland. “All other CPSB schools and facilities will be open as normal.”
All Allen Parish schools as well as East Beauregard Elementary and High School are also closed today due to power outages from last night’s storms.
