Clara  Anne Langley

Clara Anne Langley, 76 of Ruckersville, Va. formerly of Sulphur, La. passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with her beloved husband by her side.

She was one of two children born to Raymond Leon and Virginia Loomis Keathley on Sept. 29, 1946 in Ferriday, La. and raised in her family home in Clayton, La.

She attended and graduated from Ferriday High School. She loved music, and played in the band and played the piano. Following high school she attended Northeast Louisiana University, now called University of Louisiana Monroe earning a bachelor’s degree in early education. Her career in teaching began at Western Heights Elementary School, then at D.S. Perkins until her retirement in 1998. During her thirty years as a teacher, she touched the lives of many children, parents, and fellow educators.

She met Michael at a New Years Eve celebration in 1973 and were married in 1976. Together they welcomed a daughter, Lisa Allison Langley. She was a Christian, and raised her daughter to know the word of the Lord and before moving to Virginia, attended Maplewood Baptist Church.

Her hobbies included spending time with her family and traveling. Her most memorable trips were ones to Graceland, as Elvis was her favorite singer.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents and two beloved Westies.

Those left to cherish her memory; her husband of forty-seven years, Michael Wilson Langley; daughter, Lisa Allison Langley; brother, Raymond Keathley and wife Deborah; sis in-law, Patricia Fruge; along with numerous extended family.

The family to welcome friends in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2023 beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services led by Pastor John Astling will be Friday, June 2, 2023 at 12 p.m. with burial to follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
