Allene Ann Lafleur

Allene Ann Lafleur, 89, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Christus St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, La. surrounded by her family. She was born to her late parents, Noah and Jean Hebert on Sept. 14, 1933 in Crowley, La. Allene was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, La. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Republican Women, and Altar Society, where she served for many years. Allene worked at the Maplewood Branch of the Calcasieu Public Library. Allene was a devoted member of the Wednesday morning coffee group and monthly Birthday group. She also loved traveling once a year to Gulf Shores with her High School friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and received the most pleasure in witnessing anything that her loved one’s were involved in.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 67 years, James Charles Lafleur; three sons, James Troy Lafleur (Arlene) of Sulphur, La., Gregory Allen Lafleur of Decatur, Ga., and Dr. Glenn Charles Lafleur (Suzanne) of  Lafayette, La.; one daughter, Lauren L. Gonzales (Dr. Jose’ Gonzales) of Sulphur, La.; grandchildren, Ryan Lafleur (Carrie), Craig Lafleur, Noah Lafleur, Sydney Lafleur, Gabrielle Gonzales, Julian Gonzales; along with great-grandchildren, Brylyn Lafleur, Wren Flores, Kallen Lafleur, Ganon Flores, and Max Lafleur; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.    

Allene is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Rodney Hebert (Betty).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, La. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11 a.m., with Father Timothy Goodly officiating. A Rosary will be held at the church on Wednesday beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m.. The church is located at 2700 Maplewood Drive, Sulphur, LA. 70663. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery, located at 2300 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, LA. 70605.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady’s School, located at 1111 Cypress Street, Sulphur, LA. 70663
