Morris Paul Duhon, 84, of Lake Charles, La., passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas, on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be at Broussard’s Funeral Home Major Drive in Beaumont on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Morris was born in Kaplan, La., on Aug. 6, 1938, and moved to Beaumont, with his family as a child. He was a 1957 graduate of French High School and upon graduation, Morris joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the USMC for four years, and remained a proud Marine throughout his life. After he returned from active duty, in 1960 Morris married the ‘girl across the street’, Trudy Roblow. After his discharge from the Marines, Morris went to work for Spencer Chemical which later became Gulf Chemical and then Chevron/Phillips. He loved his job, was a vital component for multiple expansions at that polyethylene facility – serving on projects that took him all over the world – and after 40 years he retired as the HDPE Operations Superintendent. Morris loved to hunt, fish, travel, he loved hosting crawfish boils for his family and friends. In February of 2014, Morris married Jeanne LaCour Williams Duhon. They resided in Lake Charles, enjoyed traveling together, attending Mardi Gras Balls, dinner with friends, and NCAA football games.
Morris is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Trudy; parents, Felix and Zoe Broussard Duhon; his siblings, Felix Duhon, Patty Rabb and Fritz Duhon. Morris is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne LaCour Duhon; two daughters, Paula and Doug McCain of Lake Charles, and Jaliene and Les Holmes of Orange; stepdaughter, Stephanie Williams of Lake Charles, La.; and stepson, Darren and Kelly Williams of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Mason McCain and wife Lauren, Monique Reason and husband Cody, Haley and Cameron Mauldin, Todd and Sharon Glaze, Derek Glaze, and Ben and Max Williams; nieces that he helped raise, Cindy Carpenter and Jan Sims.
Morris has 10 great- grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express appreciation to the teams at Sage Oak of Lake Charles and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care.
