N. Central in title game

North Central used a strong fourth quarter to punch its ticket to the non-select Division IV championship game with a 73-66 win over East Feliciana Tuesday at Burton Coliseum.

The Hurricanes started the fourth quarter with an 18-8 run to blow the game over after leading by one point after three quarters.

A 3-pointer by Ta’Kari White in the last minute pulled the Tigers within four, but Devion Lavergne and Jontarious Offord combined to make three free throws to seal the win.

Trey’Dez Green led East Feliciana with 20 points while Cedisiah Williams added 16.

McKennis Savoy led North Central with 25 points. Lavergne added 22.

Select Division III

The Greenies limited Dunham to two points in the second quarter to build an 18-point halftime lead.

Newman limited the Tigers to 30 percent shooting.

Chris Lockett led Newman with 19 points.Cain Jefferson added 18.

Mason Lavergne led Dunham with 13 points.

Newman will play Calvary Baptist in the championship game at 2 p.m.Friday.

The Bearcats scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to extend a 3-point lead to 11.

Tahj Roots and Keyshun Johnson each scored four points in the Bossier outburst.

Lakin Thomas led Bossier with 11 points.

The Hornets rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit, limiting the Bulldogs to 10 points in the second half, including four in the fourth quarter.

Franklin took a 35-34 lead on a basket by Treyshun Mack as part of an 8-0 run to start the fourth quarter.

White Castle tied the score at 38-38 on a basket by Damorion Burks with 57 seconds left.

Franklin scored the final points of the game on a putback basket by Dalyn Bell with 31 seconds left and a steal and layup by Mack with 16 seconds left.

The Hornets will play North Central for the state title at 4 p.m.Friday.

Bell led Franklin with 16 points.Japan Washington scored 18 for White Castle.
