Beatrice Mary Laningham

Beatrice Laningham, 94, of Lake Charles, passed away Nov. 30, 2022, at a local nursing facility.
Bea, as she was lovingly called, was born on Nov. 9, 1928, to James and Mary Erwin and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Charles Academy and on December 1, 1946 married Richard C. “Dick” Laningham a marriage that lasted over 69 years until his passing in 2015. Bea was a homemaker and a longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where she proudly served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Bea is survived by her son, Barry Kent Laningham and wife Joanna of Lake Charles; daughters, Linda Laningham Blooming and husband Charles of Lake Charles, and Melanie Laningham Hosey and husband Steve of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Laura Shirley LaBard, Michelle Shirley, Bradley Laningham and wife Kaitlyn, Bryce Laningham and wife Kay, Michael Hosey and wife Megan and Ryan Hosey; three great-grandchildren, Chloe LaBard, Quinn Hosey and Rory Hosey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at noon in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 3939 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA 70605. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles. Entombment will immediately follow the Mass at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
