Barbara “Barbie” Ann Collard, age 41, of Leesville, La., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022. She was born to parents Robert and Pamela Collard on Feb. 4, 1981, in Houma, La.
Barbie was an avid outdoors person. She loved fishing, hunting, and being on the water. She loved to write poems with her twin sister Betty, together they had a box full of them. She loved animals of all sorts and was active in animal rescue. She never met a stranger and had a plethora of friends. She was known to be very kind hearted and had a WILD sense of humor that she inherited from her father. She liked to pull pranks on those she loved. She loved to cook and create new recipes and loved to feed those she loved. Not only was her food tasty but also had a beautiful presentation as well.
Barbie and Betty stepped in as a mother figure to her sisters when their mother passed away. She had a soft spot for her children, nieces and nephew as well; she always enjoyed babysitting them.
Barbie is welcomed into heaven by her grandparents on both maternal and paternal side, her parents and her uncle David Lewis.
Those left to cherish her beloved memory are her twin sister, Betty Collard, Brittany Collard, and Bonnie Pontiff; children, Mallory Landry, Vaid Landry, Nekko Cuccia, Khale Collard, Kori Romero, and Bellamy Sykes. Barbie also has an expected granddaughter, Hazel Landry. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephew and a handful of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for Barbie Collard will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at 10 a.m. with a memorial service held at 2 p.m. at 3001 Ryan St. Lake Charles, LA 70601 in the Chapel of the Lilies. The Rev. David Jones will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Brittany Collard to help to cover the cost of services.
