Barbara Ann Lafanette Lemelle Allison departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana residing in the Prien Lake community. Barbara was a bus driver for CPSB for many years.
She is survived by one son, Wayne Lemelle (Gail); two daughters, Jackie Lemelle Guillory (Martin) and Ashley Allison; five grandchildren, Julian Guillory (Angela), Corey Lemelle, Eugenia (Nikki) Lemelle, Christopher Lemelle and Ryan Lemelle (Brittainy); 10 great-grandchildren, Zoe Lemelle, Braycen Lemelle-Ceasar, Demi Lemelle, Noah Lemelle, Aden Lemelle, Payton Allange, Julian M.J. Guillory, Jackson Guillory, Yvie Lemelle, and Londyn Lemelle; and five siblings, Kenneth Harrison, Karen Werdlow (Lawrence), Ralph Harrison (Chandra), Cassandra Littleton (George) and Patricia Key.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel Lafanette Harrison and Leroy Lafanette; stepfather, Ernest Harrison, Sr.; grandparents, Julian and Julia Duhon; daughter, Julie Gail Lemelle; granddaughter, Desiree Nicole Guillory; great-grandson, Zion Lemelle; and eight siblings, Mary Wiley, Ernest, Thurman, and Frank Harrison, Horace, Harvey and Beverly Lafanette, Peter Bryant and daughter-in-law Yvette Lemelle.
Visitation will be Friday Dec. 2, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at 1 p.m. in St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 5495 Elliot Road Lake Charles, LA 70605. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
