Paul Clayton Young

Paul Clayton Young, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou. He was a Jack-of-all trades and loved woodworking, gardening, raising cattle, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and especially enjoyed crawfish. Paul was a graduate of Johnson Bayou High School where he received awards in track and field in 1979 Class C State Champion for the mile and two mile. He worked for 42 years in the gas processing industry for Mobil Oil and the last five years for Hilcorp-Harvest Midstream. He will be remembered as a person that would help anyone he could without expecting anything in return.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Trudy Young; his children, Adam Paul Young and wife Megan, and Katie Ann Young, all of Johnson Bayou, and Kandace Brooke Young Boullion and husband Blaine of Carlyss; his siblings, twin brother, Phil Young and wife Charlene of Many, and Lynora Griffith and Mark Anthony Young and wife April, all of Johnson Bayou; and seven grandchildren, Trevor, Lainey, Allie, Gracie, Duncan, Charley, and Paisley. He was preceded in death by parents, Elden and Margaret Young; and his half-brother, Roger Blackburn.
His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, in Johnson Bayou Baptist Church. The Rev. Jack Gandy will officiate. Burial will be in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Adam Young, Phil Young, Clayton Jinks, Jessie Simon, Dominique Sandifer, Don Trahan, and Travis Welch, and honorary pallbearer, Bill Scott. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church.
