S. Louis Sonnier

KINDER – Funeral services for S. Louis Sonnier, 92, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Louis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Charlotte, for 72 years. Louis was a lifelong resident of Kinder, as well as a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He proudly served in the United States Army as a ranger for two years. Louis was the owner of Sonnier Timber Company and Southern Pole and Piling for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Louis’ memory include his wife, Charlotte G. Sonnier; two sons, Daniel Louis Sonnier of Kinder and Charlie Sonnier and wife, Brenda, of Kinder; daughter, Sylvia Sonnier Crawford and husband, Jeff, of Oakdale; four grandchildren, Jared Louis Crawford of Katy, Texas, Jacob Lowe Crawford of Lubbock, Texas, Dr. Michael Scott Sonnier of Metarie and Kate Sonnier Johnson of Lake Charles; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew Crawford, Michael Crawford, Sebastian Dominguez and Emma Sonnier.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Sonnier; two brothers, James and Robert Sonnier; and three sisters, Leonide Sonnier Barrett, Claire Sonnier Smith and Flora Mae Bushnell.
