This is a low chance for tropical cyclone development over the southwest Gulf of Mexico through the weekend.
The National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office said a tropical wave located over the western Caribbean is forecast to enter the southwest Gulf of Mexico by Friday where an area of low pressure may develop.
Latest guidance moves this wave into south Texas or Mexico over the weekend where locally heavy rainfall may occur, the agency said.
