Theresa Roy Jones, 87, of Lake Charles, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, in her residence.
Mrs. Jones was born on May 18, 1935, in Eunice, La., and was raised and lived all of her life in Lake Charles. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and also belonged to the Catholic Daughters. She and her husband thoroughly enjoyed traveling in their RV.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son and caregiver, Leonard Jones (Susan) of Houston, Texas; siblings, Donald Roy (Nancy) of Lake Charles, Carol Hanna of Lake Charles, and Geraldine Meche of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Steven Soileau (Kimmi), William J. Jones, Brian P. Jones, and Katelyn Jones; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Cameron, and Slayton Soileau, and John Paul and Bailey Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Lewis Roy; her husband, John Oscar Jones; and children, Carl Wayne Jones, Ronald Jones, and Carolyn Red.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the funeral home at 10 a.m. and continue until leaving for the church at 12:30 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 12 p.m.
