Maurina Wright LeJeune

Maurina Wright LeJeune, 81, passed away on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022 in a local hospital.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Hackberry and was a 1957 graduate of Hackberry High School. Maurina was a proud employee of Brown’s Grocery Store where she was employed for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, especially flowers. She had a great love for her family and was a constant support for each of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Numa Raymond LeJeune of Hackberry; her children, Joseph “Joe” LeJeune and wife, Margaret of Summerville, S.C., Christopher “Chris” LeJeune of Fayetteville, N.C., Michael “Mike” LeJeune and wife, Toni of Iowa, and Salina Bailey and husband, Michael of Richmond, Texas; her brother, Charles Wayne Wright of Hackberry; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennett and Inez Wright; and her siblings, James Burnell Wright, John Bennett Wright, and Betty Rae Wright Desormeaux.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church Hall in Hackberry. The Rev. Arvind Minz, HGN will officiate. Burial will be in the Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the church hall from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday, all in the church hall.
