Betty Fontenot

Betty Fontenot, 87, of Carlyss, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, in her residence surrounded by her family. Betty has resided in Sulphur for 68 years. She loved crocheting, painting, flower gardening, and being outdoors. She enjoyed shopping on Mondays with her daughter, Kay. Betty loved traveling the United States with her husband. Her boys, Edward and Tim followed in her footsteps with their love of music and dancing. Family was everything. She was a loving and kind person with a generous heart. She was selfless and always giving of herself. Betty loved to bake and cook, too.
Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Calvin Joseph Fontenot; children, Edward Frazer and wife Debra of Lake Charles, Timothy Fontenot and wife Machelle of Pittsburg, Kan., Elizabeth Kay Fontenot of Carlyss; four grandchildren, Calvin Jarrell, Heather Sonnier, Jennifer Nall, and T. J. Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Taylor, Shase, Ty, Atley and Skyler. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucy Moore Fontenot; and two sisters, Jean Higgins, and Sandra Benoit.
Services for Betty will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Pastor Marcus Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
