Floyd Perkins Vincent Sr.

Floyd Perkins Vincent, Sr., 86, of Lake Charles, La., passed away at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Vincent was born on Sept. 24, 1935, in Mossville, La., and resided in Lake Charles, La., most of his life. He attended Washington High School and was a dedicated supervisor at Conoco Phillips, retiring after 39 years of service. He was the recipient of a service award given in recognition of his never having missed a day or being late for work for more than 30 years. Additionally, Mr. Vincent served as a board member of the Conoco Credit Union, and he was also a member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church for 40 years, the latter of which was served as a deacon under Rev. Roland E. Mouton Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Carolyn N. Vincent of Arlington, Texas, Floyd Vincent Jr. of Lake Charles, La., Randy S. Vincent (Bernadette) of San Jose, Calif., Felisha D. Vincent of Lake Charles, La., Kerry W. Vincent (Ernestine) of Lake Charles, La., F. Renee Vincent-Nelson of Lake Charles, La., Radiah Raquel DeVille (Dorain) of Lake Charles, La., and Linton Collins (Lula) of Elton, La.; brother, Roosevelt Vincent Jr. (Regina) of Vallejo, Calif.; sister, Genelle Hines of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepsister, Joann Rideau of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Marie Towner of Palm Springs, Calif., Beverly Prater of Inglewood, Calif., Annie Lee Williams of Lake Charles, La., Letha Carter of Dallas, Texas, and Della Vincent of Sulphur, La.; grandchildren, Courtlin Holloway (Shanya), Frank Paul (Alejandra), Diandra Dominique (Christian), Justin Vincent (Angie), Brandy Vincent, Gregory Singleton, Robyn Vincent, Michael Duhon II, Alfredo Reese II, Reginald Nelson, Noah Nelson, Cameron DeVille, Tyler Glenn, and Sydonté Brisco; daughter of the heart, Lilly Vincent; granddaughters of the heart, Cne’ Carmon and Tiana LeBlanc; 16 great grandchildren; and two godchildren, Gayla McKinney and Sabrina Clark; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Dean Vincent, whom he married in 1955; his parents, Mamie and Roosevelt Vincent Sr.; stepfather, Arthur Towner; siblings, Ivy Vincent, Esther Mae Prater, Lorenza Vincent, Barbara West, and Charles Prater; four stepbrothers; and one stepsister.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. and continue until the start of the service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Lannis Joseph, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family requests that all attendees wear masks while paying their respects to the family of Mr. Vincent.
