Myra Fontenot Butler

Myra Fontenot Butler, 68, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, in Lake Charles, La. She was born to her late parents, Elwin and Verna Fontenot on March 24, 1954, in Kinder, La. She was a 1972 graduate of Kinder High School and a 1976 graduate of McNeese State University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Myra worked for Louisiana Pigment as a Lab Analyst for 23 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, being a part of the Bridge Club, and watching all sports (especially LSU and McNeese). Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandson, whom she loved so much and loved to spoil beyond belief.
She is survived by her long time boyfriend of 15 years, Jack Deason; two sons, Brian Butler (Amy) of Moss Bluff, La., Steven Butler of Sulphur, La.; brother, James Fontenot (Cheryl) of Welsh; sister, Sharon Shepherd (Johnny) of Deweyville, Texas; her beloved grandson, Blake Butler of Moss Bluff; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bruce Fontenot.
A Celebration of Myra’s life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, La., on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
