Alice Arlene Wyrick

Alice Arlene Guth Wyrick, 69, of Lake Charles, passed away at 8:44 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in a local care facility.
Mrs. Wyrick was born on Nov. 15, 1952, in Lake Charles, where she resided all of her life. She was a 1970 graduate of LaGrange High School where she was a Gatorette. She furthered her education at McNeese State University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education and was a founding member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Mrs. Wyrick taught numerous years in Calcasieu Parish before retiring in 2012. She was of the Methodist faith.
In her spare time, she could be found playing bingo, putting together puzzles, or playing Yahtzee.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Ken Wyrick Jr. of Lake Charles; sons, Kenneth Wyrick III (Katherine) of Lake Charles, and Jonathan Wyrick (Page) of Flowery Branch, Ga.; siblings, Harold L. Guth, II (Grace) and Charles W. Guth (Claire), all of Lake Charles; and beloved grandchildren, Lincoln, Avery and Olivia Wyrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vere and Marvin Guth Sr.; and siblings, Mary Jo Murphy and Marvin J. Guth, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Josh Belt will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. and continue until the start of the service.
