Michael “Wild Bill” Shayne Hickok

Michael “Wild Bill” Shayne Hickok, age 61, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Mike was born Aug. 4, 1960 in St. Petersburg, Fla. to his late parents, Donald Edward and Marilyn Virginia Kramer Hickok.
Mike was a loving father, husband, and friend to many. He worked as a Pipe Recovery Engineer in the oil industry for over 40 years all around the world. He was a volunteer firefighter for several years. Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, camping, and cooking. He had a way of bringing family and friends together through his loving personality. Mike was known as one of the most loyal people you could meet and would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He lived life to the fullest all the way until his very last “hitch”!
Those left to cherish his memory are the mothers of his children, Netia Marie McCullough Hickok of Abbeville, La. and Sandra Loftus Hickok of Sulphur, La.; his children, Chrissy Morehead of Houma, La., Virginia Lynn Hickok Prudhomme (Kenneth) of Abbeville, La., Joshua Michael Hickok (Brandy) of Lafayette, La., Bryan Shayne Hickok (Devin) of Snyder, Texas, Shayna Leann Giesen of Sulphur, La.; his step-children, Marcus Andrusia of Sulphur, La., Ruston Andrusia of Benton, La., Korbin Giesen (Ashlyn) of Sulphur, La., Dakota Giesen of Sulphur, La., Zach Giesen of Sulphur, La., Zoie Grace Giesen of Sulphur, La.; his 15 grandchildren; his sister, Cherri Johns of Cary, N.C.; his step-mother, Mildred Sue Rose of Herndon, W.Va.; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home led by Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Burial will follow in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
