Charles “Chuck” Ray Humphrey, 64, departed from this world to be with our Lord at 9:16 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022. His loving wife of 42 years, Alice was by his side.
Chuck was born Dec. 30, 1957, in Warner Robins, Ga., to Bobbie and Ann Humphrey. He graduated from Memorial High School in Phoenix, Ariz., and served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees, where he learned his carpentry skills. His Navy career was short lived because of a bad knee. He moved to Louisiana, where he met and married Alice and opened his own cabinet shop. He had a passion for woodworking and could build anything. After closing Chuck’s Cabinets, he worked for Icee Distributors, which he also loved. Chuck will be remembered as a kind and compassionate man who had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew him.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Alice Roy Humphrey; son, Damon Navarre; daughter, Danielle Hartman and husband Daryl; brothers, John Humphrey (Neta), Mark Humphrey (James Melzan), and Jeffery Humphrey (Lisa); and three grandchildren, Colby Navarre, Tanner Guillot, and Talen Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie and Ann Martin Humphrey.
His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Nathan Long will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. with a rosary at 10:30 a.m.
