Nate Livings will board a plane from his hometown in Dallas this morning, heading for Los Angeles.

It figures to be a festive weekend with all the usual Super Bowl hoopla, capped by the big game Sunday.

And that’s where Big Nate’s big dilemma kicks in.

Like most LSU alums he’s kind of wrapped up in the Joe Burreaux mania sweeping the country, and sits firmly on the rags-to-riches Cincinnati Bengals’ Bandwagon.

But for the former Washington-Marion High star, who went on to LSU and was a sophomore starting guard on the Tigers’ 2003 national championship team, it’s not that simple.

There’s also the game’s other feel-good story — the Rams’ 40-year-old left tackle, Andrew Whitworth, a perennial All-Pro seeking his first Lombardi Trophy at an age when most, like Livings, have long since retired.

The two weren’t just national championship teammates at LSU. They didn’t just start their NFL careers together with the Bengals.
