Eltee  Joseph  Thibodeaux

Eltee Joseph Thibodeaux, age 88, of Westlake, La., passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022. Eltee was born on Sept. 29, 1933. 

Eltee was a retired mechanic and owned Thibodeaux’s Automatic Transmission for 36 years in Sulphur, La. He enjoyed bowling at Petro Bowl where he competed in bowling tournaments. Another of Eltee’s passions was dancing to cajun music; he was a member of Cajun French Music Association (Lake Charles Chapter). In Eltee’s later years, he picked up woodworking and was named by his friends  “Woodpecker”. He loved to scroll and enjoyed making all sorts of toys and nicknacks.

Eltee was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Bernice Conrad Thibodeaux; daughter, Renee Reeves Carpenter; his parents, Arnold and Dora Thibodeaux; along with eight siblings; and his step-son, Owens Conrad.

Eltee is survived by his sister, Linda Mayfield of Texas; his son, Audie Thibodeaux and wife, Debra of Sulphur; step-sons, Butch Conrad and wife, Sue of DeRidder, Billy Conrad and wife, Lisa of Westlake, Johnny Conrad and wife, Mickey Westlake, Greg Conrad, and Dan Conrad both of Westlake; daughter-in-law, Connie of Westlake.

Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel with Tim Bergen officiating. Burial will follow in Goos Cemetery, Joe Miller Road, Moss Bluff, La.
