A 33-year-old man was killed Monday night in an auto-pedestrian crash at the intersection of Enterprise Boulevard and Pine Street.

Lake Charles Police Sgt. Shaun Touchet said Lawrence Richard was found lying in the roadway when officers arrived. 

Touchet said officers began life-saving measures before Richard was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The initial investigation revealed that a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 20-year-old Da’Quann Antone of Lake Charles, was traveling northbound on Enterprise Boulevard. While crossing the roadway, near the intersection of Enterprise Boulevard and Pine Street, Richard was struck by the Silverado.

Impairment is not suspected, but standard toxicology tests are pending, Touchet said.
