WELSH – Rolland James McCown, 90, of Welsh, died peacefully at Cornerstone Hospital on Jan. 8, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Hart McCown; his daughters Cheryl Leblanc, Lynzie Boudreaux (Mark), and Rollenda McCown, all from Welsh, Ellen Shaheen (Harry) from Singer, and Dr. Lezlie Cantrell (Jack) from Joplin, Mo.; stepchildren, Wade Watkins (Carrie) and Paula Fox (Dominic) from Welsh, and Lisa Bird (Rick) from Double Oak, Texas; 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Rolland is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Sadie Lee McCown; brother, Vernon; and sister, Jo Ann Sullivan.

Visitation will be Wed., Jan. 12 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Welsh with funeral services on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the church in Welsh. Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings is in charge of arrangements.
