Dorothy  Ray Guillory

Dorothy Ray Guillory, 90, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 in her sleep after a battle with dementia.  She was surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Guillory was born on Jan. 25, 1931 in Whiteville, La.  She was a long-time employee of F. Miller and Sons.

If you had the opportunity to ever meet her, your life has been better because of it.  Dorothy was the sweetest lady you would ever meet and was always smiling and laughing.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judith Ann Conley (Tommy) of Oakdale and Cynthia Fay Bowman (Charles) of Westlake; stepson, Sidney “Boo” Guillory Jr.; stepdaughters, Cynthia Spell (Kyle), Darleen Pousson (Bill), and Becky Ann Felice (Dan); a brother, Belton Thibodeaux Sr.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Elvin Ray; second husband, Sidney Guillory Sr.; parents, Estelle and Belizair Thibodeaux; and 11 siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 in the Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  The Rev. Mike Barros will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden.  Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
