‘Village for Healthy Living’ taking shape

Work continues on Imperial Pointe, “A Village for Healthy Living.” The first project in Phase II, the sales and showroom for Villages of Imperial Pointe at 1717 Imperialcomplete. The new senior living community for ages 62 and older is under construction. The 129 apartments in the four-story, 70,000-square-foot apartment building will provide “high-end, inspired independent living in a resort-style setting, featuring an abundance of rich amenities and services in a vibrant and active environment,” according to a news release. One- and two-bedroom apartments will be from 700 to 1,150 square feet.
Open house at the sales and show room is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 9, noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Villages of Imperial Pointe is located in the 75-acre mixed-used Imperial Pointe development, at the corner of Nelson Road and Imperial Boulevard. The community will offer true resort-style living with amenities such as multiple dining venues, bistro bar and lounge; “club room” with bar, pool table and piano, fitness center and yoga studio; event center; spa and salon; art studio; demonstration kitchen; theater; library; outdoor swimming pool; outdoor courtyard with sunshades and trellis; beautifully landscaped grounds; large putting green and shuffleboard; and outdoor grill house and dining area. Numerous social, educational and spiritual programs and events will also be offered to the residents.

Solvere Living will manage, an operations management division of St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Solutions Advisors Group (SAG). “We are very excited about managing the exceptional Villages of Imperial Pointe and bringing its luxurious, inspiring and resort-style atmosphere to Southwest Louisiana,” said Kristin Ward, president and CEO of Solutions Advisors Group. “We are providing residents an environment of rich amenities, engaging programs and events, along with the best in quality of life and services. This has already led to high interest in advance of the showroom opening, which is not surprising considering the location in Lake Charles and the expanding development on the Imperial Pointe healthy living campus.”

goals through engagement and connections. “Our Salus program is designed for more successful and healthier aging and helps people sustain their physical, intellectual and social abilities as they age,” Ward said. Some of the many services include concierge, around the clock staff coverage, emergency response system in each apartment, maintenance and repairs, scheduled transportation, housekeeping and basic cable.
Projected opening date of The Villages of Imperial Pointe is July 2022. More than 25 full-time positions will be created initially, with more positions added as expansion of the community takes place.
More housing will follow, according to Dr. John Noble, managing partner and a local orthopedic surgeon. Plans are in the preliminary stage for The Haven, an assisted living facility.
It was eight years ago when Dr. Noble, a local orthopedic surgeon, presented the city with “A Village for Healthy Living.”
A Jan. 23, 2013, American Press article quoted Noble as saying, “This will happen. But it will happen correctly. We are not going to do this in a hasty fashion. Over the long term, we want this to grow, and we don’t want any mistakes.”
Three years later, on May 25, Noble presented the master plan.
The goal of the development hasn’t changed, according to Noble, and that is to create a community with easily accessible services and resources to help residents stay healthy and active, all in one convenient, well-designed location. The first 20 acres of Imperial Pointe have been developed and is home to several businesses and medical services, including FNB (First National Bank), The Eye Clinic, Rehab One, the Center for Orthopaedics, Imperial Health Imaging Center, Medicis Pharmacy, Hope Therapy Center, CHRISTUS Ochsner Wound Center, Imperial Health Endocrinology Center and Southwest Louisiana Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residence.
Early on, Noble said the development could include the Lake Charles College of Osteopathic Medicine and be the third academic medical center in the state. Due to changes in guidelines from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service and changes in the north Louisiana market and locally, Imperial Pointe medical facilities will, ideally, host clinical internships for third year medical students.
Plans for multi-family housing, retail, hotel and other medical buildings continue to be part of the working plan. Other planned components include a memory care facility, mid-rise residential apartment complex, a gated subdivision, wellness facility, restaurants, retail space, medical office buildings, a potential hospital, and other recreation facilities and amenities.
